Epson Stylus SX200

CFB_suppliesThe Stylus SX200 combines printing, scanning and copying facilities in one stylish compact unit. Its lightweight (7.5kg) and compact design (measuring 450 x 342 x 182mm), make it perfect for the home and small office user as it fits into the tightest of spaces. The SX200 makes use of four separate Epson ink cartridges which feature DURABrite Ultra technology and this enables prints to resistant to water, smudging and fading. Epson SX200 ink cartridges are quiet expensive at £30 a set but there are compatible printer cartridges available which cost almost half the price of the originals. A number of features of the SX200 are claimed to be PC free such as the photo copier which is convenient but a little limited at it can only copy up to 9 sheets at a time. The other PC-free function is direct printing from a memory card or digital camera aided by the SX200’s built in memory card reader and PictBridge, although the sx200 doesn’t have an LCD screen and this makes choosing the right photo to print a bit tricky. Where the SX200 shines in when its printing, the quality is of a very high standard and probably this best in its class. Printing speed however is not so impressive, Epson claim it is capable of 34ppm but this is unrealistic and the best the SX200 can manages is around 4ppm which is slow every for an inkjet printer. The SX200’s built in flatbed scanner performs well and it capable of scanning anything up to A4 in size, even a high resolution photograph. The built quality of the machine is good though the SX200 is not the quietest machine in the world it’s not noisiest either.
